These are the final pieces, which have been photoshop edited:
In this photograph i did a simple levels adjustment, curves and i finally lightened the eyes slightly, to make them more stand out and powerful. Overall i like the composition of this photograph, her positioning really expresses her personality and the eyes are very bright, which really make the photo connect with the viewer. The lighting in this photograph is just cast on the top right of her face. I think the light on that eye just adds an extra sparkle and life to the photo.
I love the dreamy feel of this picture and even though her eyes aren't looking at the camera, it is still an interesting photograph, as you want to know where it is she is looking. Again the lighting isn't "typical" for a portrait, but i think it works well as the light is illuminating her eye which is the most important part of a portrait. Perhaps a reflector on the bottom right side would bounce some more light on the right side of her face, which i think would improve the photograph.
PhotoShop Manipulation:
Step3|: Lightened areas. I lassoed the eyes and brought the levels up slightly to make them more eyecatching.
PHOTOS THAT WENT WRONG!
These are a selection of the photographs that went wrong with the lighting. As you can see the face is in alot of shadow, or the eyes are the darkest part.
